How ValueSight uses personal information
This notice explains how ValueSight handles personal information in connection with this website, enquiries and demonstrations, and, where they apply, pilots and customer relationships.
Who we are
ValueSight is a trading name of Mofussir Mian, a sole trader. In this notice, "ValueSight", "we", "us" and "our" mean Mofussir Mian trading as ValueSight.
Mofussir Mian is the controller of the personal information described in this notice, except where we act as a processor for a customer (see "If your organisation uses ValueSight" below).

What information we collect
When you contact us or arrange a demonstration
We collect your name, work email address, company and role, and anything you include in your message or share during a meeting. Enquiries are currently made by email.
When you visit the website
This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics. It is hosted on GitHub Pages, and GitHub may collect technical information such as your IP address in order to deliver and secure the site. The site loads the Inter typeface from Google Fonts, which means Google also receives your IP address when a page loads.
If your organisation uses ValueSight
If your organisation takes part in a pilot or becomes a customer, we process details of its users, such as names, work contact details and roles, in order to provide and secure the service.
Information your organisation uploads, such as payment applications and related commercial records, may contain personal information. We process that information as a processor, on your organisation's instructions and under our agreement with it, and your organisation's own privacy notice also applies. We ask customers not to upload special category personal information unless it is strictly necessary.
How we use it
- to reply to your enquiry, and to arrange and hold demonstrations;
- to follow up on conversations about ValueSight, including those started at trade events;
- to send occasional relevant business communications where the law allows (you can ask us to stop at any time);
- to run the website and keep it secure;
- to provide the service to customers and pilot users;
- to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Lawful bases
- Legitimate interests: responding to and following up business enquiries, and running and securing the website.
- Contract: providing a service your organisation has agreed to, or taking steps you ask for before an agreement.
- Consent: where the law requires it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers:
- GitHub, for website hosting;
- Google Fonts, which serves the typeface used on this site.
We may also share information:
- with professional advisers, such as an accountant or legal adviser, where necessary;
- with public authorities where the law requires it;
- with any business that takes over ValueSight, including a limited company if ValueSight is incorporated.
We do not sell personal information.
International transfers
Some of our service providers, including GitHub, may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer that are recognised under UK data protection law. Examples are UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Enquiry and demonstration information: up to 24 months after our last contact.
- Customer and pilot information: for the length of the relationship and a reasonable period afterwards.
- Business and tax records: for as long as tax law requires.
Keeping information secure
We take appropriate steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of your personal information;
- have it corrected or erased;
- restrict or object to how it is used;
- ask for it to be transferred to someone else;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To make a request, email sales@valuesight.co.uk. We may need to confirm your identity, and we will respond within the time the law requires.
Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when the way we handle personal information changes, including if ValueSight becomes a limited company.
